Who we are

Specific Marketplace ("Specific", "we") is a Y Combinator–backed company operating a marketplace that collects voice, video, and code data from consenting contributors and provides it to AI research teams. You can reach us at sid@withspecific.com.

What we collect

  • Account details you provide through WorkOS AuthKit (name, email).
  • Voice recordings you submit against a task prompt.
  • Video + audio from live conference calls when you click Start recording.
  • Code repositories you attach to a code task.
  • Basic device signals (browser, IP address hash, user agent) for fraud prevention and debugging.

How we process it

Submissions are stripped of personally identifiable information — names, phone numbers, email addresses, and other obvious PII are redacted or replaced with neutral placeholders — before the data is used to train AI models. The anonymized artifacts may be licensed to AI labs; your raw recordings are never sold or published.

Where it lives

Data is stored on infrastructure operated by Supabase (Postgres + object storage), Vercel (web hosting), Railway (API), LiveKit Cloud (realtime audio/video), Deepgram (transcription), and Anthropic (LLM review). Every vendor listed is SOC 2 Type II or equivalent.

Your rights

You can request deletion of any submission and the derived artifacts at any time by emailing sid@withspecific.com. We honor deletion requests within 30 days. Residents of California, the EEA, and the UK additionally have the rights to access, correct, and port their data under CCPA / GDPR / UK-GDPR.

Cookies

We set a session cookie (via WorkOS AuthKit) to keep you signed in, and a small set of functional cookies. We do not run third-party advertising or tracking pixels.

Changes to this policy

We'll post updates to this page and, for material changes, notify signed-in users by email.
